Frequently asked questions

Why does a terrace leak when the tiles look fine?

Because the tiles are not what keeps the water out: the membrane underneath does. If it has split or does not run properly into the outlets and up the skirtings, water gets through the joints even when the paving looks intact.

What is the best paving for outdoors?

Ceramic or porcelain tiles rated for outdoor use, frost resistant and with a slip-resistance class suitable for wet areas. Movement joints are also needed, because temperature swings outdoors are large.
