Parquet flooring installation
How a parquet floor turns out depends more on the substrate than on the timber itself: if it isn't properly levelled and dry, the wood moves and cracks appear within a few months. We prepare the base, choose the system — floating or nailed — to suit the property, and leave the finish varnished or oiled and ready to walk on.

Frequently asked questions
Floating or nailed parquet: what's the difference?
Floating parquet clicks together over a foam underlay without being fixed to the substrate, so it goes down faster and costs less. Nailed or glued parquet is fixed to the base, feels more solid underfoot and usually lasts better over the years, but needs a perfectly level substrate.
Can parquet be fitted over underfloor heating?
Yes, provided the manufacturer allows it and the wood's moisture content and the installation temperature are controlled during fitting. The wood species and thickness need to be suited to underfloor heating so it doesn't warp with temperature changes.
